Developers from NetherRealm Studio have published an almost three-minute gameplay video on their YouTube channel, dedicated to Takeda—the next fighter for Mortal Kombat 1.

The trailer showcases the key abilities of the character, who wields mechanical whips and explosive kunai. Among other things, the creators of the fighting game also gave a glimpse of the X-Ray and fatality moves.

Takeda will appear in the game on July 23—he will be available exclusively to owners of the Premium Edition or the Kombat Pack content add-on for a week. On this day, the cameo of Ferra will also be added to MK1. This is the last character that was confirmed around the game release. Previously, the Kombat Pack buyers could play Homelander, Quan Chi, Omni-Man, Peacemaker and Ermac.

As for the year two characters, none announcements were made yet. At the end of June, the list of possible additions appeared online. They are likely to be announced at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con 2024, as MK team teased on their social media.
