Tuxedo Labs has unveiled plans to introduce a multiplayer mode to Teardown their beloved sandbox title, along with the release of a new expansion called Folkrace DLC The Folkrace DLC will enhance the single-player experience by introducing new maps, vehicles, and racing challenges. Players will compete in various events, earn rewards, and customize their vehicles to dominate the tracks.

The multiplayer update will first debut on Steam’s Experimental Branch, giving players early access to test the feature. Developers are encouraging feedback, especially from the modding community, as updates to the game’s API will allow modders to adapt their creations for multiplayer use.

According to the developers, multiplayer has long been a goal for the team and a highly requested feature from fans. This announcement marks the realization of that vision.

At launch, multiplayer will be accessible via an "Experimental" branch on Steam, enabling players to try out the new mode. Simultaneously, the team will provide API updates to modders, ensuring that existing mods can function in multiplayer environments. Once testing is complete, multiplayer will become a core feature of the game.

Looking ahead, the developers revealed that two more major DLCs are in the works, with further details to be shared later in 2025.
