Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley does not rule out the possibility of Evil Genius 3, but for now, he is not making any official announcements. The franchise holds a special place in his heart, but he is currently contemplating how to take it to the next level.
Kingsley pointed out that the idea of world domination could be realized not only in the base-building simulator genre but also in other strategic formats. While specific projects are still in the discussion phase, the developers are actively generating new ideas for the future of the franchise.
Released in 2021, Evil Genius 2 received "mostly positive" reviews on Metacritic from the press. However, when the sequel reached the hands of regular players, many criticized it. Despite improved graphics and some work on fixing past mistakes, the sequel to Evil Genius fell short in many ways compared to the original. Players criticized the global map, the degradation of minions and various structures, as well as many other aspects.
