Today marks the one-year anniversary of Counter-Strike 2's release, and while it's still early morning in the U.S. West Coast, Valve's biggest news for now is a major patch for Deadlock. The update fixes numerous bugs, includes balance tweaks, and adds many quality-of-life improvements. The changelog is big and go to the game forum to check it out. Instead, we'll highlight two points.

First, a new hero named Mirage has been introduced to the game. Mirage can lift opponents into a tornado and throw fire beetles at them. It's amusing to note that players now have a new Mirage, but not in the game they might have expected.

Second, the developers added a unique anti-cheat system. Opponents of a cheater are given the option to either stop the match and ban the offender or turn the cheater into a frog, making them suffer more. However, players should be aware that the match result won't count, and Valve will issue a ban regardless of the vote outcome.

Deadlock is still in closed beta, and the developers continue to roll out significant updates. However, there is no release date, and none is expected in the near future.
