In a surprising announcement, Bloober Team and Konami revealed they are teaming up once again to develop a new game. This time, the project will draw inspiration from one of Konami’s beloved franchises, though specifics remain under wraps.
Piotr Babieno, CEO of Bloober Team, emphasized the positive impact of their collaboration on Silent Hill 2:
"Working with Konami has been a rewarding experience, and the critical acclaim for Silent Hill 2 proves our shared vision works. We’re excited to bring another high-quality project to life, but we must keep some secrets until the right moment. Rest assured, fans will love what we’re cooking up."
Though no official word has been given on the franchise in question, speculation is rife among fans. Many believe it could be another Silent Hill remake, possibly revisiting earlier installments like the first, third, or fourth games. Alternatively, the project might explore other iconic Konami properties, such as Castlevania or Metal Gear Solid. The success of Silent Hill 2 surpassing 2 million units sold by late January, underscores the strength of their partnership.
