The head of Kojima Productions, Hideo Kojima, gave an interview to Variety. He currently has no plans to retire anytime soon and intends to keep working actively. The game designer wants to continue creating for his fans, for whom his games hold great significance.

Kojima shared that he has big plans for his upcoming projects:

  • The studio is finishing work on Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. This game is very important to Kojima, as it will strengthen the franchise and allow it to grow further.
  • Several Death Stranding adaptations are currently in development.
  • Production of the game OD in partnership with Microsoft is ongoing. According to Kojima, this game is unlike anything else, and while he can't yet go into details, explaining the concept of OD is quite difficult. Kojima describes OD as a risky project and a personal challenge.
  • The spy action game Physint for PlayStation is still in the concept development stage.

To facilitate productive work on these projects, Kojima has signed an agreement with a major Hollywood talent agency, WME. He plans to create something entirely new in the realm of digital entertainment. Kojima himself isn't sure what form this will take yet. It could be a game, a movie, or something entirely different. He jokingly added that he can't die until he brings this idea to life.
