While The Sims 4 is relatively stagnating, different projects try to dethrone the king. While InZOI is generating a tsunami of hype, some other projects are not so lucky.

Paradox Interactive canceled Life by You in June of this year.  Many believed that Life by You would become a worthy competitor to the iconic The Sims series. However, it failed to meet expectations, according to Paradox's Chief Creative Officer, Henrik Fåhraeus. He also stated that Life by You fell short of The Sims 4 in all major areas.

According to Fåhraeus, a project that goes in early access mode needs to be very, very polished and fun — this applies to the available content. There might not be much content, but it should provide a good gameplay experience. Unfortunately, the prospects for Life by You seemed bleak.

Previously, one of the developers of Life by You mentioned that the studio had tried to convince Paradox to save the game, but the studio itself was closed after the project's cancellation.
