Take-Two Interactive intends to close two studios while doing extensive layoffs. Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier reported this, citing internal corporate documents.
The main damage goes to:
- Roll7 – people behind OlliOlli World and Rollerdrome.
- Intercept Games – a Seattle group that was busy with Kerbal Space Program 2.
According to the report, employees are aware of such fateful decisions as they will get some extras on the way out. It is worth noting that no official announcements about this situation have been published.
Private Division, which previously ruled over each of the studios mentioned above, was the primary target of this restructuring as not only the two groups were affected, but also the outside staff was cut off.
In April, Take-Two Interactive decided to reduce staff by five per cent. Unfortunately, we have to add some more numbers to the list of industry victims. During the last five months, more than 5,900 people across the industry were forced to look for a new gig.
