CES 2025 is drawing attention with numerous newsworthy announcements. And it’s not just about hardware—though many are eagerly anticipating announcements from Nvidia and Lenovo's new portable PC. Occasionally, there are surprises related to Japanese animation as well. At CES 2025, Sony officially announced an anime adaptation of the Ghost of Tsushima. The anime is set to release exclusively on Crunchyroll in 2027.
The anime, titled Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, will be produced by Sucker Punch, Crunchyroll, and Aniplex. During the event, a key visual from the upcoming series was unveiled.
Additionally, a live-action Ghost of Tsushima movie is currently in production, directed by Chad Stahelski, best known for the John Wick series. Interestingly, Stahelski has recently also been involved in anime production: he worked on "Lazarus" together with the legendary director Shinichiro Watanabe.
