The ransomware hacker group announced that they have gained access to 1.5 TB of data from Kadokawa Group, the parent company of FromSoftware. The hackers published their statement on the dark web, which was noticed by the cybersecurity-focused account FalconFeeds.

The extortionists claim to have contracts, DocuSigned documents, financial records, legal materials, and other "confidential internal data" in their possession. They also allegedly have "very personal" information about Kadokawa employees, including their private lives, such as emails and browser history.

The group stated that they would release the data on July 1 if Kadokawa does not pay a "sufficient amount." The hackers mentioned that the company had attempted to negotiate, but offered too little money.

It is currently unknown whether the hackers possess any information related to FromSoftware. At the time of writing, Kadokawa has not commented on the situation. In some cases, such extortion claims by hackers turn out to be a bluff.
