More and more global sports stars are choosing to spend their time playing games. You can have a ton of fun without the risk of serious injury, and this also applies to the sports entertainment industry. In a one-hour interview with undisputed WWE champion Cody Rhodes, fourteen-time world champion Randy Orton shared that he has already logged nearly 600 hours in Elden Ring.
Around the twentieth minute of the interview, the wrestlers began discussing games, particularly noting that the character Peacemaker, portrayed by their colleague John Cena, appeared in Mortal Kombat 1. Randy admitted that he used to criticize Rhodes, who is also a well-known gamer (though he prefers the The Legend of Zelda series). Now, Elden Ring has taken over his life, with Orton spending a huge amount of time playing it while recovering from an injury. He mentioned that he would play Elden Ring at night after putting his kids to bed.
So far, we haven’t seen any references to Elden Ring in Randy’s in-ring gear, but it would be interesting to see a nod to the game someday. After all, this wouldn’t be the first time something like this has happened in professional wrestling.
