In 2025, people are expecting two things: Grand Theft Auto VI and Nintendo Switch 2. While we still have to wait almost the entire year for the first, the second is shaping up to be announced very soon—simply because so many leaks can’t be ignored.

At CES 2025, one of the accessory manufacturers for the Switch showed what the new Nintendo console might look like. It will be larger in size with some nice design improvements (for example, an additional USB-C port).

Naturally, after the news caused a stir, everyone started reaching out to the Japanese company for a comment. Essentially, Nintendo had three options: refuse to comment, deny the leaked images, or present the console in response. The latter would have been the most exciting, but for that to happen, everything would have to be ready. Apparently, it’s not yet. So, the Japanese company chose the path of least resistance and denied the leaked images.

As usual, this denial doesn’t really mean anything. We’re waiting for the official announcement and hope it happens sooner rather than later.
