The seventh patch for Baldur's Gate 3 will be released in September—previously, Larian announced that it would include new cinematics for the evil path, official mod support, and numerous fixes.
Now the developers have shared more details and announced that beta testing of the patch will begin on July 22—players can apply for participation on the BG3 Steam page.
One of the new features in the seventh patch will be dynamic split-screen—if two players' characters in co-op come close to each other, the screen division will disappear. In hardcore mode, some bosses will gain new legendary abilities during battle. The new cinematics for the evil path will appear for both the Dark Urge and fully custom characters.
The developers have fixed numerous bugs and made several improvements related to the Dark Urge, as well as companions. These companions include Shadowheart, Astarion, Karlach, Wyll, and Gale. The improvements affect their quests, dialogues, and animations.
The seventh patch for BG3 will not be the last. After its release, Larian plans to add cross-play and photo mode, as well as several other improvements, including optimizations. However, there will be no new story content.
