The platform fighting game MultiVersus, featuring heroes from Warner Bros. Discovery franchises, was released on May 28 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.

This is essentially a relaunch, although the developers decided to call the initial 2022 release a "beta." The game received a warm reception from gamers then, but in March 2023, the developers announced that the title would be temporarily closed in June of the same year. This caused dissatisfaction among many gamers, particularly those who had purchased the premium edition to support the developers.

On the evening of May 28, the game reached 114,000 concurrent players on Steam. This is a good start, but not a record, as the "beta" reached 153,000 in 2022.

Among recent reviews on Steam, 70% are positive. However, not everyone is pleased with the changes made since the first launch. For instance, players complain that the game has become slower and the controls less responsive.

Key issues highlighted by gamers include the absence of previously available game modes, leaderboards, the ability to play offline, and an expanded training mode. Additionally, many are upset about the mandatory purchase of heroes even for local play and the significant increase in the cost of all characters.

Despite these concerns, MultiVersus has the potential to become a full-fledged competitor to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but much will depend on the game's future support.
