Remedy and Annapurna have announced a strategic partnership, as revealed in a press release. Annapurna will assist Remedy in financing the development of Control 2, covering 50% of the expenses. The Finnish studio stated that production of the action game is in full swing.

Annapurna will also help Remedy expand the Control and Alan Wake franchises beyond video games, into film and television. However, no specific announcements have been made yet. It appears that movies and TV series based on Control and Alan Wake are being planned.

Remedy will self-publish Control 2. Whether this means the game will be available on Steam at launch is still unclear. Previously, Alan Wake 2 was released exclusively on PC via the Epic Games Store as part of a partnership between Remedy and Epic Games.

Currently, Remedy is not ready to share any news about Control 2. Fans of the franchise will have to wait a bit longer, according to the developers. The collaboration with Annapurna will allow Remedy to make Control 2 exactly as the developers envisioned it.
