Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior is a side-scrolling platformer in the Metroidvania genre, featuring retro pixel art inspired by the aesthetics of the early 90s. The project is officially based on the discography of the iconic band Voivod, with all current members of the group directly involved in its development, providing creative oversight and collaboration.

In the game, you take on the role of Voivod, a hero fighting in a war-torn world filled with biomechanical mutants and cybernetic fortresses. The sci-fi universe, bosses, and game design are deeply inspired by Voivod's music, conceptual albums, artwork, and song lyrics. The protagonist must find lost parts of themselves to survive in this grim dystopian world.
The gameplay of The Nuclear Warrior combines "run and gun" elements with the ability to use both firearms and melee attacks. As players progress through the story, they will unlock new weapons, upgrades, and unique abilities. Additionally, the game world features hidden areas to discover.

The game's soundtrack includes tracks from the band's albums, reimagined in a retro style to match the visual and gameplay aesthetics.
In a few weeks, the developers will launch a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for further development. The game's Steam page is already available, and the project can be added to your wishlist.
